One Man, probably the greatest chaser of the nineties epitomised the courage, bravery and sheer zest for life that addicted even the most casual of racing fan to his dashing presence. This video is an excellent tribute to the years of joy he brought to his flocks of followers and the sporting connections who cheered his every effort. I was a loving fan of this proud grey who as a schoolboy, ran home one sunny day to see how he'd faired in the Mumm Melling Chase. Thankfully the video doesn't dwell on this cruelist of days where One Man lost his life. A tear still appears in the eye all these years later when viewing this tribute and I think this is a tribute in it's self to the horse and the the grand portrayal this video achieves. As well as focusing on the horse the dedication and loyal nature of his trainer, Sir Gordon Richards is rightly highlighted.
'One Man- A Horse of a Lifetime' blends, with rich credit the extreme highs and tearful lows of this cherished sport which is made all the more special by the rare talent of horses like One Man.
Like One Man himself, this video is delightfully fasinating and wonderfully moving.

Every racing fan knows what fate befell One Man at Aintree in 1998. That bitter twist of fate sometimes makes this video emotional viewing. At the same time it is unmissable as the horse's career highs and occasional lows are chartered finishing with his glorious last victory at Cheltenham in the Champion Chase.

His subsequent fate is barely touched on yet there is no need to do so. This is a celebration of the horse's life and what pleasure he gave us. If you haven't got it you are missing a treat.

A must view for any National Hunt fan. Many words and stories were written about this famous grey, but one thing is for sure you will never appreciate how good he was until you watch this video. He may have never won the Gold Cup, but that day at the Festival when winning the Champion Chase will remain with me forever. Watch, enjoy and saviour, you cant help but think whilst watching this that Gordon and One Man were toying with us all along.
