4.0 out of 5 stars Hazel Soan demonstrates watercolour in 3 further locations., 4 Jan 2002
By A Customer
In the first of these programmes, Hazel begins with an attractive painting of fields. She shows how to sketch moving people by drawing cricketers and paints wild flowers including poppies. She demonstrates line and wash with the drawing of a church porch in pen and ink, shows how to simply paint a viaduct using three colours only and ends with a delighful painting of a mill.

At Ely and Newmarket, Hazel demonstrates a painting at the races and a still life of tack. She continues with a watercolour of a flat landscape, a still life of a pumping engine in a museum and a landscape with the Cathedral in the distance. She ends this part of the video with a lovely painting of the Cathedral with delphiniums in the foreground.

In Cambridge during May week, Hazel begins with the painting of a bridge with reflections in the river. She visits the botanical gardens where Georita Harriott, a botanical artist, is teaching children. Hazel paints two of her pupils as they paint flowers. She then makes a lovely painting of a waterlily, and ends with a river scene including a punt with a group of people in the foreground.

As in the first video, there are interludes of more general entertainment, and a lot of techniques are taught. I preferred this video as it did not seem to be as disjointed as the first.
