This was the series that had so much going for it. I adored it. Here we see two excellent episodes and one good one.

'Last of the Cybernauts' sees the return of the deadly foes from The Avengers, with a new twist. Poor Purdey is so vulnerable in the middle of this episode.

'To Catch a Rat' has our trio trying to catch a giant (and ever growing) rodent in the sewers beneath London after a mad scientist douses it with his experimental growth hormone.

'Three Handed Game' is one of those excepionally quirky episodes that you must see to believe.

All have bags of atmosphere and style. This relatively short series brought us an amazing array of villains, way out plots and incredible situations. It still stands as a beacon amidst the dullness of current tv series. Only a few current offerings can compare.

The New Avengers was never as good as The Avengers and one of the reasons was in Patrick Macnees own words,he never had the energy for Steed in later years.However,these three episodes are the very best ever.Ian Hendry apears and was in the veery first Avengers episodes all those years before.He is an underated actor who deserved to be a star.
Another connection to the mother series is the apearance of cybernauts.Finally,the most fantastical adventure has to be rats in the sewer.Giant rats.
Steed,Gambit and Purdey at their veryu best.
