5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent review of two of the finest tournaments in history, 26 Feb 2001
By yusuf@michla.fsnet.co.uk (Scarborough, England) - See all my reviews
Footage is given from the '66 & '70 World Cups. The footage from Engalnd is B&W, but colour from the '70 tornament. Commentary is provided, including rarely heard ITV commentary in the '70 World Cup. The '70 tournament is the best in history, and as such any coverage is good. The video is excellent, and I would reccomend it to anyone, (if only to hear some bizarre German commentary in the Mexico-Italy game, and to hear the commentary of Huw Johns- bordering on loopy at times of high drama)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great review of two great tournaments., 27 April 2009
I've watched countless World Cup videos, but this series is the best of the bunch. It's clearly been well-researched and uses TV footage which I've never seen before.

The only reason it gets 4 stars is because of the poor B&W quality of the 1966 World Cup highlights.

But it's still watchable I would recommended it.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT COVERAGE., 8 Feb 2007
By JUDE (IRELAND) - See all my reviews
The video lasts eighty minutes, split between the 1966 and 1970 Tournaments. The footage is excellent, just straight forward camera angles with no annoying 1930`s style shots of the crowd. You get the picture. Introduced by the dulcet tones of Sky`s Richard Keys, the action is brilliant, black and white for the first part colour for the second. There IS German commentary for the Mexico v Italy Quarter-Final but I have only ever heard it in that language and besides, it`s a great language. I have that game on dvd and it is in German. Beckenbauer, Hurst, Eusebio, Moore, Muller, Cubilas, Riva, Charlton, Rivera, Rivelino and of course Pele. Fantastic stuff.
