5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent, moving documentary., 1 April 2000

This video follows the story of the Scharnhorst and her sister ship Gneisenau, from commission, action at sea through to her return to Germany. Interviews with surviving members of her crew, combined with archive newsreel footage, make this a compelling piece of history. What comes through is the human story - men taken into service doing their duty to the best of their ability without political motivation.
