2.0 out of 5 stars Not very spooky., 11 Oct 2000
By A Customer
I love haunted house movies, but sadly the makers of this b/w film made it more romantic than scary. -Actually, if I didn't know it was supposed to be a ghostly tale I never would've guessed. If you're looking for a horror film you won't find it here; it's everything but. The locations are good looking and occasionally there's a bit of nice old house atmosphere, but for the most part this drama is so talky you begin to wonder why, as a horror fan, you're watching the movie. Maybe it's just me and I ought to give it another chance at some point, but I find its reputation as a genre movie quite wrong. Mason and Lockwood are good though, so their fans will be pleased.
