Synopsis

The first episode in a new Star Trek series. 'Caretaker' sees the USS Voyager investigating the disappearance of a Maquis ship during a plasma storm in the Badlands.

When a Maquis ship inexplicably disappears during plasma storms in the Badlands, U.S.S Voyager is assigned to investigate. To assist the mission, Captain Kathryn Janeway recruits a reluctant, cashiered Starfleet Officer who has also acted as a mercenary for the Maquis. Whilst exploring the renegade ship's last known position Voyager is mysteriously propelled 70,000 light years from home, by an overwhelming force. Searching this uncharted quadrant of the galaxy, they become embroiled in a centuries old environmental problem on a nearby inhabited world.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must for all voyager fans!, 16 Jul 2000
This double episode is excellent, and a must see for all Voayger fans. If, like myself, you didn't see the first episode, before watching Voyager, this really clarifies the situation which brought them into the Delta quadrant. It's also rather funny to watch aswell, because Voyager has improved so much, and the characters have changed. The relationship between Paris and the rest of the two crews is really funny! Well I thought so. If you haven't seen it, I would recomend it.

This review is from: Star Trek Voyager - Vol. 2.11 - Resolutions / Basics Part One [VHS] (VHS Tape)
'Resolutions' really concentrates on the relationship between Janeway and Chakotay. And, I believe, hints at a romantic interest between the two. I really like this epidode because it shows Voyager's commanding officers out of uniform and of the ship, and it's really sweet! 'Basics - part one' is good aswell, if you like action and drama. Seska's back, and stirring up more trouble, which results in Janeway and her crew, stranded on a planet, and Voyager in the hands of the Kazon. If you buy this video, you'll want to buy the next one, to see the concluding part of Basics. Brilliant double episode.

I am only just getting into voyager as i got a gift of the first four seasons from a close freind who left the country to make loads of money.I will try to review each as i watch them ok. I really enjoyed this it is so exciting and you get into the story really easy. the charecters are all very well portryed and janeway is excellent it at points felt like a disaster movie in space but i think that is a good thing. buy it become hooked I have.
