And I love adventures!
If you're going to buy only one Hong Kong kung-fu adventure movie in your lifetime, I strongly recommend this one. It got it all, even drama and great acting. And God bless the people at Hong Kong Legends for making films like this available in the West, with decent subtitles and all. Two thumbs up!! The only reason it's not worth five stars is because it's not flawless (ex: every time someone rides a horse they speed up the tape, even though it really is not necessary).

Hong Kong superbabes Maggie Cheung and Anita Mui are fantastic in this masterpiece. Lavishly filmed. If you are into martial arts or Hong Kong movies in general, buy it! To say that the sword scenes are acrobatic is an understatement.

This is a decent movie which needs a little editing - the plot almost makes sense.
It's visually good without the sensory overload we've come to expect from Crouching Tiger, Hero and Flying Daggers.
There is some good acting, fun wirework and they've even worked a tame killer whale into the plot (not kidding).
One key scene at the start almost links up with a key scene at the end - but then doesn't. Just about the only really annoying part.
There's lots of action, some attractive people, interesting characters, nice locations and a great underground temple area.
Good subtitling really helps here, good pace and reasonably good English.
Just like Hero & Flying Daggers, almost everyone dies, very Chinese.
Buy it, you'll like it.
