Titled "Police Story 3:Supercop", after watching, you will not wonder why Chan is called the supercop...
I watched this absolutely ages ago on channel 4 during their season of showing martial arts very late on a saturday night and it introduced me to the phanomenen that is Jackie Chan!
I was addicted straight away, and still love it. It is easily funnier and contains better action than the second of the series and certainly challenges the original for the position of the best of the series.
Most of the old favourites are back, including Jackie's boss and girlfriend. But we have an amazing contribution from Michelle Yeoh (Tommorow Never Dies, Crouching Tiger...) as a female colleague. They pose as brother and sister in order to infiltrate and catch a drugs ring. This allows for both Jackie and Michelle to show off their amazing martial arts skills to great satisfaction. The plot moves them through various locations (prison breakouts, ramshackle villages, jungle meetings of drug barons, cities..) and they end up in the same city where Jackie's girlfriend is leading a guided tour. As usual, she causes a few problems betraying Jackie's secret identity and forcing him to work for the bad guys to save her life.
Throughout the film there are amazing fights and some classic stunts. Notably are Jackie's jump from the top of a high building (maybe a 100ft drop - who knows, its BIG anyway) out onto the rope ladder of a hovering helecopter without a safety rope or net. He then hangs on whilst he is carried along in the wind off to a train (watch the out-takes to see how he is banged against it etc). He then fights some bad guys on the roof (and almost falls off several times!) and Michelle jumps onto the train on a speeding motorbike.
I cannot describe it all, but Jackie does mention it as one of his favourites, and I promise that it is fantastic. If you have liked the others, you'll love it - if you have only seen Chan's recent films such as Rush Hour then watch this and see what he's really capable of.

Jackie Chan, how do you do it? Another hard hitting, spectacular action-packed, rollercoaster of a ride, from the undisputed master of action- comedy. The third instalment of the excellent Police Story movies is completely different than it's predecessors and has a completely detached storyline. Whereas Police Story 1 & 2 were urban thrillers, this is more like a James Bond style international action extravaganza. It has fights, shootouts, car chases, the lot, all in exotic locations. Plus it has the usual trademark Jackie Chan humour. Hong Kong cinema at it's greatest and one of Jackie's best recent films.

A great film that combines humour, a good storyline , action and amazing stuntwork.As always Chan uses his surrondings to the best possible effect, creating amazing action sequences that have to be seen to be believed.A must see for all, even those not into martial arts
