4.0 out of 5 stars false expectations, 19 Dec 2000
By A Customer
Watching this film today from Spain is surprising mainly owed to the false expectations of the Spanish republican or communist refugees in France. These "general strikes" were pure illusion and never happened. I think only perhaps president Roosevelt had the real power and wish to defeat Franco's regime but he died before he could do something. From the beginnig of the Iron Curtain, sanctions against Spain were mostly pure chatting than reality. Remarkable are the political dialogues which seems so delayed today.
