5.0 out of 5 stars One of my fav films ever!!!, 18 Dec 2006
I think the other reviewer, as mentioned by himself, missed the genius of it...

The film is not about a big plot...is about every day life, trivial things...

it's beautiful for it's simplicity, the acting, direction, clever jokes...it would help if u could see it in spanish and knew something about Spanish culture at the time it was done.

It's very difficult to produce something complicated and make it look like it was effortless, just like that was an hidden camera filming those people's life.

For some reason is considered to be one of the best Almodovar films.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of Almodovar's early films, 6 Oct 2003
By Pablo43 (London) - See all my reviews
Truly outrageous, witty, barbed and a great vehicle for Carmen Maura's talents. Part John Waters, part Eldorado. Not as dark as the wonderful 'Laws Of Desire', which is criminally unavailable on VHS or DVD at the moment, nor as assured as 'Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown', it still remains one of my favourite Almodovar films.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not really my taste, 1 Jun 2003
One son is a drug dealer, and his younger brother (~age 9) is sold by his mother to his paedophile dentist. The father loves German opera, saves a german woman from killing herself.

Although I loved Talk To Her, this film didn't really have anything to drive the plot. It was just one neurotic bizzare incedent after another, and by the end of it I was very bored.

Maybe I'm missing the film's genious, but I thought it was a waste of time.
