When I first visited the UK, a friend introduced me to the Street Philosipher of Govan. I couldn't understand a word he said. He insisted how funny it is, and being the trooper I am, I watched the video he gave me over and over... about 8 times. Each time, I understood more, and each time it got funnier and funnier. Now, I am a "Rab-a-Holic", to coin a phrase. I purchased this video a couple years ago while visiting friends in the UK(a funny episode ensued at a pub in Dover between me and a Govan native over this video). While I love it, and think anyone who is a fan will enjoy it, the echo's on the stage and the already hard-to-understand (for an outsider) language makes it hard to watch. It is certainly (IMHO) not Rab at his best, but it is worth the watching.

l saw this live on stage a few years ago and l thought it was better watching it at the theatre because there was plenty atmosphere. Rab was hilarious in this show. l watched it on video when it came out and l was shocked that the BBC had taken all of the goodness out of it. lt was better to see it live at the theatre.
