4.0 out of 5 stars A classic childrens' classic, 5 Sep 2002
I had to read this novel as part of my A Level PE course. At first I was dreadding readding it, however, the more I read the more I became facinated with it. I was amazed, yet intruiged at the way the sixth form boys treated their "fags" and contemplated what would happen to the pupils at my own school if these shannanigans were to be imitated here. I found the boxing, cricket, fox and founds and rugby games/matches most helpful with my course and would would advise other PE students to read this book and concentrate on these scenes. I sometimes found these scenes difficult to picture in my mind, and therefore found the film an added bonus to my course after reading the book version. If you cannot obtain the book, watch the film as you won't regret it when it comes to homeworks and exams!!!!
