Hostage concerns Travis' abduction of Blakes cousin, who Blake just has to rescue. The attack on the Liberator at the start of the ep is perhaps the biggest battle ever shown on Blakes 7. The Space commander is however obviously too camp (badly cast) to get Blake. A lot of this ep looks dull due to the usual quarry location but despite that, the cast liven it up a bit. The plot has too many holes for my approval though.

Countdown is about a ticking bomb and Blake's attempt to save a planet. The ep also has two good subplots; One concerning Avons old lover Anna's brother and one concerning a Space Major who is alleged to know the where-abouts of Star One. A good script, with crisp direction.
