This, like the Troughton Years, is a good way to see all the odd episodes from the era still in the BBC's archives and mourn the loss of the rest of the story and the other losses from the era. But if you want to get a real feel for the series, buy one of the complete stories, especially The Daleks or The War Machines, and leave this to completist fans like me.

I first saw The Celestial Toymaker as a very young child and it has stuck with me ever since as the best Dr Who story ever. Until I got this video I had not realised that the full story was missing and I was mortified at the negligence of this. I can only hope that someone out there has the original tapes and will eventually hold the BBC to ransom.

The Hartnell Years is an great video which features 3 of the best episodes of the Hartnell era. Hosted be the 7th Dr this really is a great video! It's at a really cheap price as well and I can recommend it a great deal. The story the 'The Celestial Toymaker' has never featured on video before as this part is the only existing part of this story which has been described as second best Dr Who story ever made(Second to Marco Polo-Although I personally think Planet of the Spiders and Enlightenment are the best stories)So to conclude if you don't want to buy a Hartnell story on video go for this one as you get 3 episodes from different stories!" Great stuff!
