4.0 out of 5 stars Another Will Hey Masterpiece, 17 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This is one of Will Hay's finest films. Hay is excellent in his role as the station master, playing his usual incompetant role. Harbottle and Albert seen to get better in Will Hay films the older and fatter they get (respectively), and they're old and fat in this little beauty! Gun running, train crashes and a funny man with a squeeky voice - It's all here. Miles a head of it's time and all together a top film! Buy it, and all the rest of the Will Hay films right now, they will change your life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Will Hay at his most bungling best!, 20 Dec 2000
By steve.holt@zoom.co.uk (Bury. Lancashire England.) - See all my reviews
Sit back and switch off your mobile phone and step back in time to the classic age of the 1930s. Will Hay and his two station hands set out to find the missing train carrying the Buggleskelly Wednesday football team. What happens next is a sheer delight and is ninety minutes of nostalgic fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh!Mr.Porter!What shall we do?.....WATCH THIS FILM!, 9 Aug 2000
By A Customer
Will Hay is the genius of his time..comedy at it's best shows how such a film can never be made again. Will Hay plays bumbling railway worker William Porter who is appointed as stationmaster at Buggleskelly station-in a remote part of Ireland!..Naturally things don't go well from the start.Moore Marriot and Graham Moffat play the incompetant staff Harbottle and Albert who steal goods from customers and from passing trains....as things get going,Porter meets the man they call one eyed Joe and after an excursion goes missing-Porter,Albert and Harbottle go on a wild goose chase to look for the missing train...along with their engine-Gladstone. With probably the most famous train scene ever the three bumbling fools embark on keeping the gun-runners onboard....will they succeed?Watch and Find out!
