5.0 out of 5 stars a must for Evertonians - simple as that, 7 Jun 2002
The fall from grace of Everton Football Club through the 1990's, culminating in its current status as Premier League stragglers, is a tragedy for those of us born of blue blood. Embrace the opportunity then to enjoy the club's more prestigious days in what is simply a masterpiece of a production. Although its emphasis somewhat lies in the Catterick and Kendall teams of the 1960's and 1980's respectively, due care and attention is given to the proud history of an institution that won its first league title in the 1800's. Archive footage of the likes of Alex Young is glorious, and no great Evertonian moment - Bayern Munich 85' and derby winners from King and Sharp being particular personal favourites - is ignored. This has to be the starting point for anyone wanting to enter the Evertonian world, and has to act to a reminder for those only recently deciding they like football what major players in British football Everton Football Club were (and hopefully will be again). Ending in 1988 though, this is surely ripe for an update as 1994-5 and 1998 are major turning points in the recent history of the club.
