Gripping, gritty, great!, 16 Mar 2004
Whenever I see a film with John Mills, my attention is immediately aroused. Quite rightly so, with this fine example of acting and story.John Mills plays the lead figure; a man whose life was virtually destroyed, by a tragic accident. He eventually moves on and into a quiet, very private life, able to reflect and rebuild the shattered pieces of his existence. Circumstances could not have been worse for him, when he finds himself lodging with gossips, judgemental fools and a ruthless and cunning murderer, who sees his opportunity to commit the most evil crime and ensure the blame is cast on someone least able to defend himself. However, John Mills masterfully plays the part of a man who is not about to give in and, in the ensuing chase, he shows how worthy it was that he should take the lead, as he convincingly portrays determination, grit and quick thinking. Yet another excellent item for my collection; I am certainly not disappointed and anticipate watching this film regularly!
