THE FINAL CHAPTER??, 9 Jun 2007
Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter is no where near the final chapter, but it is my favorite Friday movie. Jason, presumably dead after the events of Part III, is sent to a coroner. But Jason, of course, is far from dead. So after he heads back to Crystal Lake, the unsuspecting teens who are drinking, skinny dipping, having premarital sex, etc. are in for it. The Jarvis family, residents to Crystal Lake aren't safe either. There might only be one person who can stop Jason's rampage, and that is young Tommy Jarvis, played by Corey Feldman.
Friday The 13th Part IV isn't that different from any other Friday movie, it follows the same basic formula most of the others have. The acting is bad, but that goes without saying. Jason is at his prime, he's big, he's bad, and he is ready to slaughter whoever he wants. The direction for this movie is probably the best in the series, it was definitely impressive. The direction is one of the reasons why this movie is my favorite Friday movie. Another reason is that the killings are probably the best in the series. The writers got very creative for how Jason was going to kill and scare his victims. Any Friday The 13th fans and slasher flick fans will definitely want to see Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter.
I give it a 9/10.

The Final Chapter. The Weakest Link., 21 Jun 2001
This is definitely one of the weakest of the Friday the 13th's, down there with Part 2.Its the first in the series to feature Tommy Jarvis, played well by Corey Feldman.Other than that I felt the cast was pretty bad, and I just could'nt wait to see them all die.The gore and brutality of the killings are as satisfying as ever, and Voorhees is as wicked and evil as ever.Other than that though the film is an empty bag of tricks. It lacks as much suspense and nerve shredding tension, that some of the other installments had.And even though it is a short film ,it felt dragged out, as other than the murder scenes the film has little to offer. Also if this is the supposed "Final Chapter", then you'd think they'd have put more effort into having a more conclusive and definite ending. Its not a bad horror movie, but neither is it a great horror movie. Its definitely one to get if you are a fan of the series, but don't expect to see one of the best in the series. If you are wanting that, then buy Parts 3,6, and 7.
