Product Description
Synopsis
James Mason is outstanding in the role of Field Marshal Rommel, the leader of Germany's Afrika Korps, which dominated North Africa during the early years of World War II, later to be overrun by the might of the Allied forces. Later, Rommel becomes disillusioned with Hitler, and his ingrained sense of duty leads him into a conspiracy against the Fuehrer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A film about Patton's opposite number, 5 May 2001
By A Customer
Even posed against each other, it is said General Patton always had respect for Rommel; even though he was his enemy.

James Mason does a sterling work of portraying one of the best German commander's they had (he actually cares for his troops, even went up against Hitler) who ranks there up against the likes of Patton and Montgomery, an intelligent man with brilliant battle tactics on the wrong side of the war.

From start to finish, well acted, worth watching and very insightful.
