Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review
Rock and rap have proved consistently strange bedfellows. From Run DMC's strange courtship of Aerosmith to Anthrax getting involved with Public Enemy, seemingly polar opposites have spawned a whole musical genre "Frat-rock", as popularised by the likes of Korn, Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock, and as loved by kids in big shorts. Crazy Town's The Gift of the Game neatly slots into this category--performed by a bunch of tattooed men in big shorts, who sing about girls with tongue studs. They obviously carry some clout, amassing an impressive guest roster for a debut album, including godfathers of the scene Red Hot Chili Peppers on stand-out track "Butterfly" and instant credibility in the shape of KRS-One on the storming "B-Boy 2000". As debut albums go, this is about as accomplished and cocksure as you can get. --Helen Marquis

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended, 26 April 2001
By A Customer
A top class album from start to finish. Not sure why so many people liken Crazytown to Limp Bizkit, I cant see it myself. I think some peeps hear rap, hear guitars and shout LB. CrazyTown, (in my opinion) outclass LB, and you'll find much more on this CD than rap and rock - these guys influences are so obviously very wide ranging. Definitely a worthy addition to many CD collections. If you like your music chilled, if you like your music heavy, if you like your music dark - its all in here!! Buy it and enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it!!, 22 Mar 2001

Still love listening to this album even after a year. Influenced by Black Eyed Peas, Sugar Ray, Limps and the Chili Peppers to name but a few and produces a refreshing angle on the hip hop/rock fusion thing. Stand out tracks for me are the awesome "Butterfly" (with the Pretty Little Ditty sample), "Think Fast", "Dark Cloud", "Lollipop Porn", "Revolving Door" and "B-Boy 2000". Definitely recommend buying this. Good to see them getting some mainstream radio play over here at last!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb mix of HipHop and Rock (HipHopRock!), 16 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Well I bought this album not really knowing what to expect as you can see the album cover looks really gothic and as I am not a gothic and hate gothic music I didn't know whether I'd like this album or not.But most music fans should like this album as it contains many styles-:Rock/Rap/nu-metal/HipHop. B-boy2000 and only when I'm drunk are ones to look out for. Revolving door is cool and proberbly the best song on the album. (mind you all of the songs are good).
