For a long time Robin has been writing excellent songs: happy, sad, funny or even instructional they've made him one of my favourite songwriters of all time. But this time he's got the music to equal the words and just watch him go! From the surprise trumpet break in the opening to the brilliant zydeco guitar break in "Watershed" it all adds immeasurably to the overall experience. But existing fans, especially all you other folkies out there, need not worry. The music adds to the words rather than swamps it. All the old concerns are ther including the Greek myth of Ullysses ("Cyclops") are still there as is the obligatory humorous one. Robin has said that these songs tell you more about him than Greece. This time the others seem to too - speaking of a man leaving one relationship for another new and better one. Then there's the title track itself which tells of the "Longitude" clockmaker John Harrison (see what I mean about instruction?) Forget album of 1999 this the best of the turn of the millenium albums. Do yourself a favour a get hold of a copy NOW!!!!
