Amazon.co.uk Review
An immediate stylistic observation from the opening "He Pushes Tin" and "Surfing The Scopes" would be that the electronics almost hearken back to Anne Dudley's days with the
Art Of Noise. With a harmonica holding things together melodically, this is certainly miles away from
The Full Monty. As the score develops the samples occasionally suggest the Eric Serra of
Leon (e.g. "A Restless Heart"). This is a red herring, since the actual intent is to portray the romance of the film's characters. That harmonica is again the answer to that goal, and in "Absent Lovers" it's as lovely as something John Barry might do. These pointers to peers aside, the sadly short album genuinely does engage by mixing affairs of the heart ("Thinking Too Much") and funk ("A Bitter Chill").
