A brilliant album, lot's of songs taken from the Hit TV Series Heartbreak HiGH! Even a rare track by "The Big Bag Band" 'When We Talk About Love'! All in all, a brilliant album! - buy it!

When I bought this CD, I had only heard one of the songs on it, but, seeing as that was the only way I could obtain that particular song, I bought the whole album thinking that I would just get to know the others. The first time I put it on at home and flicked through the tracks, as I always do when I get a new CD,and just listened to the first few bars in each song. I wasn't immediately struck by how great the songs were, but I listened to the song I had bought the CD solely for a few times and then left it on the shelf for a couple of weeks. I listened to it on and off for about two months after that and the songs did begin to grow on me. I started to develop favourites and had a mental playlist of the songs I liked the most. This playlist eventually became the whole CD and I have spent so many hours listening to this CD. If you allow for the time you need for it to grow on you, the CD is full of unique and well sung songs, and it's even better if you are into the television programme of it because you remember parts of the series from different songs. It is a very original collection and I am so glad I bought it! All my friends want to borrow it, but I can't bear to part with it as I listen to it all the time. TIP: It's great to listen to while you're doing the washing up for your parents! Keeps your spirits up!

I was really excited about recieving this CD, having loved the series, believing it to be an overlooked but truly great drama, more lucid and relevant to its teenage target audience than Dawson's Creek pretended to be; and also appreciating the choice of music throughout each episode, being a cool mix of ambient dub, confident breakbeat and brash guitar-rock.

This soundtrakc CD has missed its mark completely, missing, for the most part, on achieving the kind of atmosphere of sophisitcation the programme invoked; Human Nature? A shoddy boy band track that sounds too sugary for even the most 'boy-loves-girl,girl-loves boy' kiss scene in Byker Grove... potentially emotive beats are ruined by some God-Awful kareoke croons on Def Fx's 'I'll Be Your Majick' and The Hunting Party's 'Grooving'.

There are two great tracks though; sweet titled band My Friend The Chocolate Cake play a touching reflection on the feeling of love with a sublime track called 'Talk About Love', and the Wicked Beat Sound System deliver the ambient goods with 'Last Nite'.

Apart from that you're better of just safe in the knowledge that Australian music only seems to produce something great every five years or so (SIlverchair, The Living End). And if you're looking for a really class collection of tunes to tie in with another great series, its well worth checking out the 'Spaced' soundtrack; A1 Gold from start to finish that delivers all the boootie-shaking delights the ace sitcom promised.

Good music from the show... if a little dated. Tunes from Frente stand out particularly well. Heartbreak High is a great show & deserves this soundtrack
