This album opens with the Singing Apes of Khao Yai, a tremendous work by the Swedish Composer, Jan Sandstrom. The work is for a male choir, who, throughout, fantastically immitate the gibbons of Thailand after which the piece is named. The work has an ABA format, with the A section being particularly forceful and overwhelming. The B section is a quieter, more pensive, "morning"-type section before the A section returns, armed with the testosterone which the composer
