John Barry is a genius, the classical composer of the 20th centuary. His cinema music has been an integral part of every film that he composes for, in some cases more memorable than the films themself. I am really pleased to find that this compilation has finally come together. From the 'Last Valley'to 'Indecent Proposal', Barrys distinctive sound stirs the heart and sends the soul soaring. My only criticism would be the omission of 'Scarlet Letter', a truly beautiful piece. I thoroughly recommend anyone who appreciates real music and cares to be deeply moved, to give this a listen, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

I never realised just how irritating big band music could be until I listened to these soundtracks with all those trumpets. There are still some lovely tracks (Dances with Wolves theme regrettably too short) but this album just didn't set my socks rocking.
