It's probably true to say that most people think of DuPre when they think of Elgar's Cello Concerto. Nothing wrong in that, though it puts other fine cellists at a disadvantage! I originally bought this CD in 1994 on the recommendation of a HiFi magazine, for it's sonic qualities rather than musical content <SHAME>. Luckily I've managed to enjoy it ever since!
