There have recently been a few female vocalists that have really caught my attention as soon as I heard them for the first time. The list includes Dido and Eva Cassidy. Hollie Smith is another with her mix of floating and rich vocals that reach into you soul. The Fields of Athenry is my favourite track, though there are none that are bad.

The blend of a beautiful voice with superb background music make this my favorite CD. Especially the interpretation of "Skye Boat Song"is moving. If I could only have one song from now on, I would chose "In Your Arms". Truly beautiful!

The Skye Boat Song is a nasty trap for the unwary - any attempt to 're-interpret' it can lead to disaster. It is a trap that Hollie Smith avoids here - and it is only one of the highlights of this album. Others include Fields of Athenry and Fallen Flowers (which is also on Steve McDonald's "Stone of Destiny" - exactly the same track, as far as I can tell). Her voice is beautiful - clear and smoky, at the same time, and the album has a slight jazz feel, while being firmly in the Modern Celtic school. If you like Enya or Clannad, check out the samples! If you don't - still check them out. It would be a shame to miss this.
