With all the grandiose ballads and the pop hooks of todays Aerosmith, people sometimes forget what a great rock n' roll band they were back in the 70s.

Their second album, "Get Your Wings", may not be their best one, but it's got plenty of bluesy grooves and pounding hard rock a la Stones, Zeppelin and the Yardbirds (whose "Train Kept A-Rollin'" remained Aerosmith's showstopper for many years).
"Wings" opens with one of the band's best songs, "Same Old Song And Dance", and other highlights include the tough rocker "S.O.S", the impressive ballad "Seasons Of Wither" in a live rendition, and the above-mentioned "Train Kept A-Rollin'".

Not everything is memorable, sure, and you can actually get almost all the really good stuff from Aerosmith's 70s albums on the superb 3-disc box set "Pandora' Box", but "Get Your Wings" is a fine purchase for the serious fan.

I simply love this album

most people havent heard of it, well for you,

this was aerosmiths secound album. The one before they became super stars.

its different darker, than previous and post efforts. But inside this album is some of the most atmospheric songwriting, together with a very clever use of sounds, and effcts.

spaced is my fav, followed by seasons of wither, pandoras box.
train kept a rollin is an amazing cover.

all together this is an excellent album, if your a fan of aerosmith buy it now, give it time itll grow on you.

Quite simply excellent!From the opening all time classic groove riff of Same Old Song and Dance to the opening clarinet on Pandora's Box, Aerosmith's first make it or break it record certainly made it!The ballad Seasons of Wither is perhaps one of THE greatest ballads ever. This is one of the only albums I have or have ever heard without one single filler, quality from start to finish.
