Many people associate Don Johnson with the Miami Vice tag, but his music of Heartbeat and now Essential is truly wonderful. He is upbeat, fast and has a husky southern USA tone that combines with easy-listening tracks to make an album that I could listen to every day! Johnson has been forgotten about or not even thought in the terms of popular music and this album is a testimate to both 80s music and a undiscovered music star.

Who would have thought that this gorgeous actor could sing as well, This album proves that he can, with the terrific debut "Heartbeat" and many more. I would recommend this album to any person who appreciates fine music.

Don Johnson is very talented and unfortunately very underrated. Of course he can sing as well as act, his voice is very mellow and easy to listen to. All the songs on the album are quite fun, relaxing and with a catchy tune. If you like Mr Johnson you'll like his music too! I think I'm falling in love all over again. :o)
