This is probably one of the most inspired, forward-thinking and sincere albums you'll ever get to hear. Bridget Metcalfe is a free spirit. She is avant-garde. She is ahead of her time. Yet this album will not threaten or intimidate you, it has too much of the feel-good factor for that. This album will grow to be a favourite in CD collections all over the world.

From the Artist
I wanted to record an album, not just a CD. I wanted to make sure that each of the songs would sit together as if they all belong there. I had some definite ideas that I wanted this album to have an acoustic feel and to be kind of laid-back in style and I wanted to include things like the barely audible but warm ambience of musicians' fingers on keys or strings and the sound of my breathing between phrases in the songs. In short, I wanted this album to sound human and not to sound over-produced and I hope you can hear the benefit of such unorthodox and maverick views!!! I think the songs capture a moment in time. Like all artists I'm constantly moving on with my musical style, but this album expresses well where I was when I recorded it and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it for you.

When the album arrived it was like a breath of fresh air to my CD collection. It is refreshingly different! My partner and I have played nothing else for days on end. It's probably destined to become one of our all time favourite albums that we'll play from time to time and never tire of its breathtaking simplicity. It has twists and turns of mood and atmosphere - just listen to when "I Didn't Know What Time It Was" moves into "(I Can't) Let This One Go", or when the sheer enjoyment of "Seventh Samba" kicks in, or another favourite "Martini Please" opens the album. The only thing I'd say is that this album takes a couple of listens to really enjoy it fully. We have found it has grown on us the more we have listened. It's not an "instant" hit - but it's a "grower" - and maybe that's why it has become one of our favourite CDs. I can't wait to hear more from Bridget Metcalfe!

I found Bridget's music by accident. it's left a permanent dent in my brain. Being the lover of all music as one's personal expression of their inner self. Metcafle your on my shopping list. Keep swinging!!! your one lady unforgettable.
