This "Selected Highlights" CD features songs from the Rocky Horror Show performed by various actors and actresses, and in my opinion isn't as good as some of the "cast" albums out there. Unless you're a die-hard Rocky fan, I'd recommend that you check out the Movie Soundtrack, the Original Roxy Cast and the Jason Donovan soundtrack before this one.

I originally bought this thinking it'd be like the "Ulitmate and Best" CD (being as it was called "Selected Highlights").

And what to say about it? Hmm, well.

The production of it isn't as good as I'd have liked, with more emphasis being placed on musicality and professionalism than on the RHS itself - it sounds like they bunged a load of actors into a recording studio one rainy day and gave them the lyric sheets, and that it's just a standard 'acting job' for them - I don't know about you, but personally I like RHS 'cast' albums to sound like a real production of the RHS, even if they're studio recordings - that is to say live and exciting, with the feeling of real Rocky spirit and verve there.

This album doesn't really add anything to the RHS (unless you're a completist who has to have *every* RH album available!) and if you just had a marginal interest in the show and wanted the songs from it, perhaps you should choose a different soundtrack instead.
