Product Description
Amazon.co.uk Review
Originally released in 1988, this first Jungle Brothers album is a delightful antidote to the fierce realities of hip hop at that time. Their lyrics are wry and often about fun, love and happiness, as were those of their extended family, De La Soul and the rest of the Native Tongues. It found success in the singles chart with the club anthem "I'll House You", an uncharacteristically commercial dance tune with a catchy chorus and "I Got It Like That", a body moving breakbeat reflective of their strong tribal identity. The follow-up album Done By The Forces Of Nature sadly saw a quiet period for the Native Tongues, but with the re-discovery of old skool and the dancefloor hit Jungle Brother, the trio of Sammy B, Mike G and Baby Bam are now recognised as respected pioneers of laid back rap music. --David Trueman

5.0 out of 5 stars great hip hop, 25 Feb 2001
By A Customer
ALong withe the rest of the native tongues jungle brothers provided a refreshing hip hop alternative in the 80s and 90s in a genre that is constantly getting dragged into the dark world of gangsta rap. This album inculdes the upbeat classic ill house you which is typical of the jungle brothers' ability to make great dance tunes as well great hip hop cuts.
