As a composer trying to work their way into the world of orchestral film scores, I found this CD to be extremely useful. Yehudi Menuhin talks us through the instruments of the symphony orchestra with individual examples of the range and tone of each instrument. Each section of the orchestra is covered in detail with all individual instruments from the strings, woodwind, brass & saxophone, harp & celeste and percussion sections. Don't know how interesting this would be to anyone else, but as a clear introduction to the symphony orchestra, I found it very useful.
