Stokowski is peerless as an interpretor of this sort of works. In both Scriabin and Berlioz, he excells in creating maximum psychological dramas and glorious orchestral colours. I've never come across more deeply felt, vivid account of Symphony fantastique. The finale of Poem of ecstasy is massive as you expect! An interesting conversation with Deryck Cooke is included as a bonus track. Recorded in 1968, ADD, Royal Festival Hall.
