Compare this to the Ashkenazy/LSO/Previn on Decca and though the balance between piano and orchestra is sometimes way out (the strong point of the Ashkenazy), the pace is electrifying in comparison.

Campared to the Argerich/Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra/Chailly (live recordin) the pace is as astonishing, but somehow fails to match the drama of the Argerich. The one advantage, however, is that because it is a studio recording there are fewer mistakes. Listen to Argerich's cadenza and there are fistfuls of missed notes.
