5.0 out of 5 stars The best album in the world, 23 Sep 2000
By A Customer
This version contains live versions of Drug Drug Druggy, Roses In The Hospital, You Love Us and New Art Riot(in E Minor). The live version of You Love Us is brilliant, way better than the tame album version (though sadly doesn't include the Heavenly version ending). And yes this album is absolutely brilliant. goth with a small 'g'

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most exciting yet harrowing listens, 18 Nov 1999
By A Customer
This album is what the manics are about. Never before and never again have they written such a brilliant piece of music. From Richeys own confessions and truths on the album to nickys fears and thoughts, accompanied by some of the most intelligent and well structured music by James and Sean. How tragic it is though that a person had to go missing for there music to get the acknowledgment it deserves.

5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful and terrible, 25 Jan 2000
By A Customer
the best manics album ever.I think it expresses the Manic Street Preachers in such a poetic "Richey" way.It doesn't sound like anything else but give it some time and you'll look at the world from another perspective. It's just as beautiful as it is terrible and if Richey and Nickys words doesn't leave a trace of despair in your heart you're not human. It's an emotional album, don't listen to it at parties, your friends will leave if they don't understand you enough. It's hard to say if this is a good manics album to start with, It might just be too strong for some. Listen to GT and GATS before is my advice. It's the most important album of the 90's.It's pure beauty and pain mixed with the kind of sounds only Sean and James can compose. not for easy listening!!! Try whale-song instead.
