5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most delicate compositions I've ever listen to., 11 Nov 2000
For a few years I have been studying Wilde. I think that Wiseman was successful when she tried to achieve beauty, as that was also Wilde's aim. One can easily listen to passion, love, sadness, loneliness and joy within a mist of exotic, strange and exquisite feelings. Not only Wiseman tried to define the persons for whom each theme is addressed to but, far more, the music reveals Wilde's emotions towards that person, either care and affection or mad and deep love. It has not only themes related with Wilde's relationships, it has also those related with his experience and his art. In relation with his experience one can listen to the theme with western colours and feel that you are there, or afterwards appear in a Victorian environment, this is great, and makes one wonder how easily Wilde, also, did move in these so different places. In relation to art the theme of the Selfish Giant is superb, more than feeling that the story is being told without words is the fact that one enters deep into Wilde's fantastic world. Well, to end up, I just can say that it is wonderful, brilliant and very, very Wilde.
