With its blend of buzz saw guitars, pounding drums and catchy lyrics, it would be easy to mistake Feeder's debut mini-album Swim for a bunch of cast-offs from Smashing Pumpkins' opus Siamese Dream, especially on "Stereo World", "W.I.T." and "Shade". But Feeder wouldn't be the first up-and-coming band to wear their influences on their sleeves, and besides, by the end of their run, the Smashing Pumpkins didn't have half of the energy or exuberance exhibited on Swim. Granted, "Sweet 16" lyrically comes across as the indie-rock version of Aerosmith's "Janie's Got a Gun", but its riff is undeniably catchy, which could be said of most of the songs on Swim. However, it does lack originality in its attempt to mimic a band. When they released this mini-album, back in 1996, Feeder were still a young band trying to develop their own sound. Try not to hold their lack of originality against them. --Robert Burrow

With just 6 tracks you'd think that it's too short to bother with and spend money on, but it's just the opposite. Feeders' first commercially available CD is short but sweet. Two of the tracks ('Sweet 16' and 'Shade') also appeared on the Gran Turismo game for the PlayStation.

1: 'Sweet 16' - Great tune and the story to it is well thought out.

2: 'Stereo World' - Pure rock noise. Class. Personally my least favourite "Swim" track.

3: 'W.I.T.' ('Women In Towels') - Quite amusing lyrics and very catchy.

4: 'Descend' - Excellent slower track that bursts in and out of the chorus. Possibly the best track on "Swim", matched only by

5: 'Shade' - Excellent rock type indie song. Cool lyrics, cool tune, great ending.

6: 'Swim' - A deep and thoughtful acoustic track. If you don't like acoustic songs I'm sure you'd like this.

This mini-album has the lot!

Rock, Indie, Acoustic, Depressing, Soul lifting, Feel good songs, Amusing lyrics.....

What more could you want?! It's better than most full albums!

A fantastic debut mini album from one of the greatest bands around. Every track hits you from six. Shade kicks ass, and was featured on the Sony Playstation game 'Gran Turismo'.

If you want a 22 minute blast of quality rock with infectious choruses and mighty riffs this is the CD of choice.

This is the re-release of feeders 1st mini album swim. It includes a few extra songs on it. The Main highlights are the fantastic Acoustic track Swim, Sweet 16 and Chicken on a Bone. However in my opinion, Forgiven is the most powerful and amazing song on the album. In fact with having all Feeders albums i can say that this song really does rank up there with some of the best. You must buy this Cd!
