4.0 out of 5 stars Evil, sleazy, downbeat sound that Therapy? produce so well, 17 Jan 2006

Therapy?, Pleasure Death - January of 1992 saw the release of the second mini-album “Pleasure Death” by the Irish rockers ‘Therapy?’. Released through Wiiija Records, the six track mini-album included the legendary track Potato Junkie that was later made its name as a live version on the 1993 “Opal mantra” single. The mini-album managed to fly up to number one in the UK Indie Charts following the same success as their previous release “Babyteeth.”

The tracklisting is as follows:
1. Skimming Pit
2. Fantasy Bag
3. S**tkicker
4. Prison Breaker
5. D.L.C.
6. Potato Junkie

The album starts off with the six minute slide into rock ‘n’ roll downbeat sleaze that is the track “Skimming Pit.” Lead singer Andy Cains delivers some evil-sounding vocals that compliment the downbeat, depressive sound of the release. The mini-album continues with a similar atmosphere, even with the 2 mins 32 secs instrumental D.L.C. that ends up getting a little dull. The release finishes off on the classic track “Potato Junkie” that contains some amusing lyrics that some people may find the offensive because of the language.

All in all, “Pleasure Death” is another superb fest of evil, sleazy, downbeat rock that Therapy? manage to do so damn well. Together with “Babyteeth”, these mini-albums are an important insight into the creation of the rock monsters Therapy?.

4.0 out of 5 stars An example of Therapy? at there most raw and best., 17 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This album is the type you find shyly hiding behind Britney Spears et all in the corner of your local music shop. If you've ever heard this band you'll know they can rip it up with the best of em' this is a prime example. The highlight of this album is the classic shitkicker.
