5.0 out of 5 stars A great introduction to the world of Dodgy, 28 April 2000
By led_zep_fan@yahoo.com (Oxford, England) - See all my reviews
This is a truely fantastic collection of songs, each with its own collection of catchy lyrics and guitar riffs. This is by far the best Dodgy album and I would reccomend this to a 'Dodgy virgin!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Of Dodgy By Far, 8 Feb 2002
By A Customer
This album is by far the best that Dodgy have ever done. The opening four tracks are all worthy of being anyone's favourite tunes. 'Staying out for the Summer' is a great summer anthem that is enough to make even the most depressed give a little smile. The there's 'The Melodies Haunt You' which has a great opening riff and brilliant vocals throughout. This track is followed by 'So let me go far' which again is melodious and catchy. The album contiues with punchy songs and reaches its climax with 'The Grassman'. This tune is truly heartfelt with great emotions.

This album by far surpasses anything Dodgy have done and are likely to do. Their first album was very middle of the road and the follow up to 'Homegrown' (Free Peace Sweet) is nothing but boring and tiresome, filled with useless pop anthems. Their fourth album (which I have no intention of listening to) sees the band with a completey new lineup, and therefore are they not just a new band but cashing in on a name that there predecessors made for them?

Anyway if you only buy one Dodgy album by this one. It's excellent while the rest of their stuff is well.....crap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Staying out for the Summer - Haven TV Ad, 14 Jan 2005
By Robin Woodstock (Hemel Hemsptead, Herts United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This track is currently in the Haven TV Ad and has generated a lot of interest with Haven recieving lots of emails and calls with new fans of the song wanting to know what it is and where they can get it. Its a great track but then so are all the others. Its a real feel good album that has even reached the heart and soul of my discerning 15yr old daughter. Who loves 60's style rocky music!

The much maligned Dodgy, can, when they put their mind to it write some fantasticly catchy tunes and, whilst there are a few on this record the rest are just, well, a tad on the... Read more
