5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful rendition of Robert Johnson classics, 26 Jan 2002
By A Customer
This is a "must have" album for the discerning blues collector. Combining superb musicianship, well crafted songs and excellent production. The overall result is an excellent CD introducing the unitiated to the founding father of the blues and the experienced collector to finely rendered versions of timeless classics. Beautifully packaged with extensive liner notes providing insightful commentary on the individual songs and the history of both Robert Johnson and Peter Green. Unreservedly highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Greenie Back to His Roots--Good Stuff !!!, 6 April 2001
Most blues affictionadoes will have the original Robert Johnson versions in the collection somewhere,so why buy this? 'Cause this is PG back to his roots and brilliant with it,vocals and guitar work are well up to standard. Not the usual selection of Johnson's material, makes a change ,which is remarkable as there are only 29 to choose from. Well done Peter,I recomend this to any Blues fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic album, 11 Feb 2004
By A Customer
One of the best albums I've heard for a long time Peter Green really is one of the greatest guitarists and musicians of our time

The only albums of his that are possibly better are the other half of the Robert Johnson songbook released as Hot Foot Powder and the amazing In The Skies that Peter Green released many years ago both of these albums should be in everyone's collection
