I have owned this album for a while and its very good. The band play swing but with a touch of blues and a touch of rock and roll. The lead vocalist is brilliant with miles of talent. He is able to sing the fast punchy rock and roll numbers and the soft slow 2.30 in the morning blues numbers. The sax player just lights the album up, if you like saxophones then this album will probably get you! The pianist is especially good too, varying from soft and smoochy to flat out rock and roll. The covers on this album are well done, My baby cares for me is not too slow but covered well by the band and it suits their style, Swing lover is great to dance to and sung hauntingly well straight from the heart, Choo Choo ch,boogie is the Louis Jordan hit that is given a new lease of life on this album, and finally Rollin with roland is fast rock and roll that will get you playing the album all over again! The bands other albums, red light and all aboard contain their own gems but this album is a truly great way to start your affair with Indigo Swing. The albumn always transports me straight into American night life as you might imagine it at 2.00 am in a smoky club that is not too posh....! I have yet to find anyone who dislikes Indigo Swing if they are half alive to Swing music where there is that glorious conjunction of Jazz, Blues, and Rock and Roll. This album is the brilliant, enjoy !
