Amazon.co.uk Review
While winding up the elements of a most lacklustre plot arc, this fourth-season episode surprisingly returned to former narrative heights. Surprise twists abound, featuring the fall of two major characters--figuratively for one, literally for the other. The pivotal scene takes place at a seedy bar, where Garibaldi unknowingly commits his Judas-like act in setting Sheridan up for capture. The "Bar Background Music" is a most surprising piece from Christopher Franke and the B5 universe--a raucous hard rock ballad (the vocalist is uncredited). Combined with experimental snap-shot photography, it made for one of the most memorable highlights of the entire show. The subsequent events include "Bester Unlocks Garibaldi", a riveting revelatory set-piece explaining the character's recent actions. Franke underscores the lengthy narrative at his subtlest levels with the menacing Psi Corp material--an electronic mini bell that carries no echo, and low sustained chords that often suggest manipulated voices. A beacon of excellence during an otherwise darkly hollow period of the series. --Paul Tonks
