For any serious collectors, this set is a msut, as it contains many live recordings made at the hight of Richter's artistic and technical prowess between 50s-70s. His repertoire is huge, ranging from German Classical composers, Romantic composers, Russian Romantic and Impressionists. Recording quality varies, but most of them are on better side if you consider the years and many poor recordings on other minor labels.

Most impressive ones are: Richter's Beethoven including the towering performance of Dabelli Vars, Grieg Concerto, Scriabin Sonatas, Ravel, Chopin, Schumann & Liszt, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Scriabin...well basically all recordings are outstanding in comparison with well-manicured, note-perfect pianists of our time. Only the Mozart recital fails to impress me - too heavy handed and suffers from poor recording quality.
