4.0 out of 5 stars Easy listening with a bit of umph..!, 29 Aug 2002

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Well as an ABBA fan, I was curious to find out more about 'Djupa Andertag' (Deep Breath) but as all the songs are in Frida's native tongue of Swedish, I never bothered to get this album until recently. However, now I cant stop listening to it. I have even found myself singing along, absolutely no idea what I am singing about though. Bizarre.

There is something very calming about these songs, and they offer an almost bohemian funk. Frida has undoubtedly a very beautiful voice, and here she certainly uses it to shine. She has come a long way from ABBA, and this album is a mature and worthy collection of her talent as a singer and as a song writer. It must be difficult to shake off the ABBA marqué, and of course why should she want too? One of the Worlds most popular bands in music history. Even so, 'Djupa Andertag' can stand-alone and show us what Frida is capable of.

Rumour of another album from Frida is always rife. However if that was never to happen, this album is a fine legacy to her fans, and to ABBA fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can words really describe the talent of Frida?, 29 April 2000
By A Customer
When i first listened to "Djupa Andetag", it was as if I was listening to a Benny/Bjorn produced album, the only difference being, Agnetha's voice missing from vocals. Not being able to understand a word of Swedish, I thorougly enjoyed listening to all tracks on Frida's CD, and have re-cued "Aven En Blomma" so many times I wouldn't dare to count! A fantastic track with brilliant backing vocals, Frida really gives it her all!

There are beautiful melodies, light rock and spookily recorded tracks, I feel, such as "Alska Mig Alltid" which really give this CD the respect it deserves. Frida's voice, even to this day, remains strong and forceful, expressing her feelings as a woman of the 90's. I can only congratulate this talented, beautiful woman on recording an album which has brought me so much pleasure over the past three years... Well done Frida and, lets hope that maybe one day, you will make a re-appearance on the UK chart scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frida - The Star Still Shines, 29 Jun 2000
By A Customer
Very simply put, this album is pure perfection. Frida has remained a very beautiful, graceful and talented lady and her voice is equally lovely.

The songs on the album are original, stylish, personal and catchy. Combine that with the incredible voice of Frida and you really have got a masterpiece.

This is definitely one of my favourite albums of the 90's. Highly recommended.

This is a superb production. The lyrics are thoughtful and some are quite profound, and the depth of range still in Frida's voice is astounding, as is her interpretation. Read more
