This is the UK CD1 Edition of the I Miss You single.
Featuring 3 remixes of the title track, and the b-side Karvel, it is an average cabbage CD single:
1. I Miss You
2. I Miss You (Dobie's Rub Pt. 2)
3. I Miss You (Darren Emerson)
4. Karvel
The original mix is certainly the definitive of the I Miss You mixes. Mixed by Howie B, it is a Latin-influenced juxtaposition of bongos and trumpets.
Track 2 is a good contrast - a hip hop version, mixed by Dobie. A strong beat and light mood accompanies the cheeky vocals, and a rap by a Mr. Rodney P acts as an interlude to Bjork's singing. The fun never ends!
Darren Emerson's mix of I Miss You is mellow, and a very background-ish dance take on the song, coming across as slightly weak.
Finally, the b-side Karvel. Mmmm no. Graham Massey's influence on Bjork is clear, as Karvel could easily be mistaken for an 808 State track. Basically it is a shallow sing with a fast-ish beat that really goes nowhere. Bjork sings in Icelandic and does so with style (of course) however the general outcome is very much as an awkward and easy-to-skip b-side.
This CD single cannot be ignored by a collector (the artwork by Me Co. is super) however for first time Bjork-ers it is not a good option. I Miss You UK CD1's lack of range earns it 2 stars.

This CD contains the wonderful b-side Karvel, which is a must have for us Bjork lovers, and for all music lovers! :)
The re-mixes are all awesome! each of them adds its own special twist while staying somehow within the overall mood and theme of the song, emphasising every new thing perfectly!...It's simply ambrosial, and if you don't buy it, quite frankly, you'll be missing out on all of the fun!!
