For those of us lucky enough to have seen the series when it was on Sky in the early nineties, the one thing that really made the show complete was the beautiful music by Jeff Danna.
Combining oriental instruments and traditional western ones you get a fantastic mix of sound. The opening track comprises an exended overture of the show's theme song and from there we are given tracks, some with audio snippets from the series mixed in (A Place Of Light And Song, Dragon's Eye, Posse) that highlight the strengths of the show and also blending in key elements of the musical score from the original Kung Fu series from the 70's.
The tracks are also similar in composition to the music from the new Battlestar Galactica series by Bear McCreary with a blending of unique instruments to create a new 'world' to listen to.
A must for anyone into eastern music or someone who likes a great soundtrack.
