5.0 out of 5 stars Wow - a triumph for minimalism and film scores!, 6 Dec 2000
By A Customer
I've never been so impressed by a soundtrack. I saw Kundun last year at a special screening of films with Philip Glass music, and it was truly an incredible experience. From the first huge notes pounding out as we look over the Himalayas to the delicate flute and harp work over the sand sculptures we travel through a musical world as rich and vibrant as the scenery and film itself. Glass' tell-tale style is all present and correct - arpeggios, repeated chords, three-in-a-bar waltz style, but with a mix of western and traditional Tibetan instruments to thrill the mind and stir the imagination.

If you are even slightly interested in the world outside your armchair, buy it - you can feel yourself becoming more cosmopolitan with every bar - or at least, wanting to be more cosmopolitan, which is no bad thing.
