5.0 out of 5 stars A smooth listen that will suit all, 6 April 2002
By kinglouie007@hotmail.com (Birmingham, England) - See all my reviews
Well well well. From the beginning of "Theme From The Cool World" right to the end of "Swing low, Sweet Cadilac", Gillespie manages to conjure up a storm all in 13 tracks. The mellow and mysterious sounds of "The Pushers" completely contrasting the vibrant and exciting "Toccata" with those added exerpts from the daddy of bebop. As a Mod-Rock lover, Talkin Verve has certainly changed my opinions of smooth jazz. Toccata originally inspired me to buy this album but the rest of it is certainly worth listening to. A true musical genius, whatever rhythm he heard, boy could Dizzy groove!
